Apparently this kissing contest thing has struck a chord somewhere. I’m getting a hell of a lot of email about it, mostly positive but a couple like the Judas one. This one takes the cake though:
I suggest you give up writing entirely. You have no gift for it.
True or not, what does that have to do with anything?

I’m quite baffled by someone suggesting you “have no gift for [writing].” The opposite is quite obvious by the results of your site’s visitor counter. People wouldn’t return, link to you, or cast votes for you if you indeed had “no gift.” Perhaps the author of that message was actually intimidated by your arguments and could not rebut in any other manner than with a petty potshot.

Hurrah for you! You had the guts to go there and TRY to sign up in the first place, which seems to be a hell of a lot more than other guys did - maybe the station will try to avoid this problem in the future…
As for giving up writing - somehow I have a feeling that whoever wrote that works for the mall that hosted the kissing contest…
