Today was probably the best day I’ve had in the last week. I’ve only felt sick half the day. I did manage to get to a phone and make an appointment at Dr. F____’s tomorrow. I hope he can tell me something positive when I see him. Ray said he’d go with me which makes me feel better about going. Dianne set a new appointment for tomorrow—she’ll come here since I don’t feel up to being out much. I hope she can get me some sleeping pills.
After getting off the phone (at the Salvation Army), we ran into Elder H____. He’s really special to me, so I was glad to see him. It made me think back to my baptism when he conferred the gift of the Holy Ghost to me. He and Elder H____ were ideal people to help in my conversion. I’ll always be grateful for their teachings to me.
After that, I walked Ray to the mall and had some pizza. For some reason, that was the first food I could really taste for the last week, so I had a second piece. By tonight, I felt just as sick as usual. So it was nice to have the break of feeling good for a few hours. I hope that happens more often.
This afternoon, the U.S. bombed Iraq, formally starting the war there. The TV has had non-stop news coverage since then. So much fighting for such a holy part of the world. It must break God’s heart to see so much hatred among his children. I think this could be the worst war in the history of the world. I wonder if we’ll learn a lesson from it. I pray God will protect us all throughout this.
