If you are not a Utahn, please take note:

  1. The county seat of Millard County, Utah is the city of Fillmore. (Oh, clever!)
  2. The county seat of Beaver County, Utah is… the city of Beaver. (Unfortunately, the sign as you enter town says “Welcome to…” rather than “Now Entering….”)
  3. Utah also boasts a tiny town called Virgin (which, by the way, gained national attention in November 2000 when the town council passed an ordinance requiring a gun and ammunition in every home).

Anyway, now that we’re all clear on that:

I’ve decided that those three Utah towns should get together and become the focal point of a dynamite tourism campaign. The following re-creation of a bumper sticker I saw a couple weeks ago illustrates the concept:

If it were up to me though, Utah would have a town named Asshole Rosebud.

the irony is evident here in SC as well … we have local towns called “cowpens” & “sugartit”

Oh yes, yes, oh yes. I needed that. You made me giggle. Bless you.

I LOVE IT - LOVE IT - LOVE IT!

Of course the city of Rosebud would be near the rim of the canyon, perhaps between two buttes?

My favorite is still Intercourse, Pennsylvania. I’d like to get a flight from Virgin, UT to Intercourse, PA.
