Alright, alright; I give.

“Uncle!”

I’m tired of freelancing. Tired of not knowing where the next paycheck’s coming from or when the current one might end. Tired of taking work because I have to, rather than because I want to. And I’m tired of paying the self-employment tax.

Actually, I’ve been tired of all that for a few weeks and have been furiously job-hunting in that time. And it’s been dead-end after dead-end. Something could come from it, I suppose, in a few more weeks - most HR departments aren’t known for a speedy response.

But, out of both boredom and borderline desperation, I’m going to swallow my pride (or what’s left of it after all this time unemployed), and send a plea out to cyberspace: Somebody hire me to do something!

Really, my ideal job is back at a TV station managing a creative or PR department or writing a newscast, but I’ll work in just about any TV-land capacity. At this point, it doesn’t even have to be TV, frankly.

Now please forgive the lack of humility below. I’ll try not to let it happen again. At least so blatantly anyway.

Resumes happily available on request, but in a nutshell:
I’ve been in television for just over 7 years, in a wide variety of capacities from PR to newswriting to creative services. For the past year I’ve been working independently as a print (and occasionally radio) journalist and media project manager, including overseeing production of two cable TV series. I’ve been told I even hosted a youth-oriented news program for one season, but proof is difficult to find. ;) Print journalism portfolio available.

I have a BS in television management and marketing from the University of Utah. I was salutatorian of my high school class and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I’ve taken (and passed) advanced courses in physics (mechanical and electromagnetism), multi-variable calculus, and English lit & composition, among others. I also reportedly know Latin, at least to a third-year level, but I suspect that’s a vicious rumor like the on-air hosting thing.

Despite how it may seem from my writing here, I actually really like most people and I’m really easy - even fun - to work with. I prefer to stay in Salt Lake City, as Patrick is not able to move right now, but relocation is an option for the right position.

If I could, I’d totally pay you to do things.
