I’ve been so busy lately. I don’t know how someone unemployed can have so much to do … and be so behind in doing it. I think it’s because it’s more difficult to say no to people when I’m unemployed. When I was working a REAL job, I felt okay with turning things down.

Tomorrow Patrick and I leave for New York for a week, so no blogging until October. (Like that’s a big change lately anyway.) I’m a little too stressed with all I have to do before we go to be as excited as I should be, but I know we’ll have a great time. This trip’s long overdue; I haven’t been to the city in nearly two years - a big change since 2003 when I visited three times. I am really looking forward to spending some extended time with the boy.

I’m also eagerly anticipating a ton of New York things: food, shows, shopping, art… you name it. We’re both also hoping to finally meet some of our favorite NYC bloggers. We’ll be at WYSIWYG on Tuesday, so if you’re there please say hello. I expect you’ll be able to spot us relatively easily as we both look pretty… well, “Utah.” Just look for the young, cute guy with long-ish dark blonde hair. That’s Patrick, and I’ll be with him. :)

I’ve only seen one picture, but that Patrick does have great hair, doesn’t he.

    My god I’m so jealous.
    I hate you both.
I’m raiding your underwear drawer while you’re both gone.

Oh man, Nick, do something for me. Find a really good Rueben sandwich and savour every last bite for me. I so miss a good Rueben. If you hate Ruebens give it to Patrick. If he hates Ruebens, buy one to go and hand it to the first street person you see. Tell them. “Bri in Brussels sent you this, bon appetit.’ I want someone to enjoy a Rueben on my behalf. Have a great time!

Pssst. I don’t know if you’re at all interested or not, Mr. Unemployed, but check out this site and scroll down to the “Publications Proofreading, Festival Coordinator” info. Or not. Just thought I’d point it out. Be warned that it would likely screw up any holiday plans, though.

I’m so sorry I didn’t make it to WYSIWYG to meet you both. I just haven’t been feeling up to a big night out — please drop me a line and let’s try to get together while you’re in town!
