Salt Lake City listed among the top 50 gay-friendly cities.
Salt Lake really does have more gay residents, per capita, than many cities across the nation. It sticks in my mind that we’re somewhere in the top 10, behind San Francisco and Seattle, but in front of New York, Atlanta, and other major metropolitan areas. That’s what per capita will get ya, I guess.
And nobody believed me before!
Now, if we homos make up such a relatively large percentage of the population, why the hell can’t we get an election to swing our way?
Oh, that’s right. Gay Republicans. As zealous as Republicans are in this state, being a gay Republican in Utah is like being a Jewish Nazi in 1939 Berlin. Way to go, guys!

There seems to be a marked differece in being gay friendly and having a large population per capita within a city. This has alot to do with the areas legislation in regards to same sex partnerships, that is the true test to a gay friendly city!

I’ve heard this before, and I must say, it defies all logic. Why would SLC have a higher per capita gay population than New York, or Chicago, or Miami, or Austin, or Las Vegas, or LA or Denver? Do Mormons breed homos? Is SLC really a gay magnet? I can see homos moving from rural Utah to SLC, but from other states? I don’t know…sounds like wishful thinking. Without reliable data I don’t think we’ll ever really know.
