Larry H. Miller’s Brokeback Mountain hissy isn’t the only stupid Utah thing on the gay radar lately. State Senator Chris Buttars (R-West Jordan), our own Fred Phelps/village idiot, has drafted yet another anti-gay measure (Buttars was partially responsible for last year’s “traditional marriage” amendment to the state constitution).

This time around, he’s targeting gay-straight alliances in public high schools. Um, didn’t we win this fight already? I seem to recall dozens of national media descending on East High ten years ago to cover a very similar battle - a battle the GSAs soundly won.

Bigots never learn.
